Biking is always a passion for people looking and lurking for adventures. Bicycles also called bikes are not new in origin and the history of bicycles can be dated as far back as 1817. Bikes are credited to have been invented in France.

Raleigh bikes are an extremely known name in the biking world. Most people around the world should have heard of Raleigh. There is an interesting story about the start of Raleigh bikes. It was back 1887 when a rich man Frank Bowden went to the Raleigh street. to obtaina bicycle. He was advised by the doctors to ride a bicycle to help his health state. He loved the bicycle too much that he purschased the bicycle shop and gradually the shop became highly successful. The bikes were named after the road which was of course Raleigh Street and it was called Raleigh Cycles in the memory of the initial address.

In the next six years it became the leading company in the world. It operated a large area in Nottingham in England (Famous for Robin Hood also) . In 1939 the production of bikes was moved to Ireland. The Chopper was one of the prolific models which were made at the plant in Ireland.
The Raleigh Chopper was initially manufactured for the children in the early 1970s. It had a unusual design which made it highly popular and one of the most remembered Raleigh variants. The 1970s generation still has fond memories of that bike. The chopper bike was the bicycle passion of all children of that1 time and wanted to have one for themselves. It gave them a very cool look.

The Raleigh Grifter was another bicycle made for children. It hit the market after the chopper and also gained a large fan base amongst the kids. Its sales rose and soon was the best selling Bike of its time.. The MK1 grifter was produced around 1976 and continued to be in built until 1979.
The Raleigh burner was released into the market in 1982 and it was a sucessor of Grifter. It was made until 1988 and the came back around 2000. There were six models of Burner like MK1, MK Pro Burner, MK2 Burner, MK2 Aero Pro Burner, Team Frame and Styler.
